This year’s Correctional Investigator’s Office Annual Report highlights the urgent need for more housing assistance for people who have come into contact with the justice system. While they may be housed by some specialized agencies upon their release from prison, the period is often too short to allow them time to find permanent accommodation (CIO, 2024-2025, pp. 109-112).
