Project Summary

  • 🏢 Building Description: A 3-story building with 18 units, offices, and a community room.
  • 👥 Residents: Diverse group of individuals who are committed to a serious and positive path toward social and community reintegration following a period of incarceration.
  • 🏗 Construction: Project completion scheduled for spring 2027.
  • 🤝 The John Howard Society of Quebec: A nonprofit organization founded in 1947 whose mission is effective, just and humane responses to the causes and consequences of crime.

Our Approach: A Structured and Safe Living Environment

On-Site Response Team

A daily presence, supporting residents as they work toward reintegration.

Strict Selection of Residents

Individuals who have volunteered for this opportunity, who are on a path toward social and community reintegration and are ready to seize this second chance.

Ineligibility of any person with prior history or issues of:

  • Sexual offenses committed against minors or adults
  • Violence against children
  • Severe or unstable mental health conditions
  • Active substance use (alcohol and drugs)

Zero Tolerance

No disruptive or problematic behaviour will be tolerated (under penalty of immediate expulsion) including:

  • Violence
  • Substance use and intoxication (alcohol and drugs)
  • Disturbing the living environment (in the building or in the neighbourhood)
  • Failure to comply with established rules and regulations

An Open and Transparent Approach

Open communication with the neighbourhood (liaison officer).

Community hall available for rent to local organizations.

Stable, Long-Term Housing

This is not a halfway house; staying here is 100% voluntary. Residents are considered ready to live independently and responsibly.
